In case you stop by hoping to see a more up-to-date version of the BTO Spreadsheet, my apologies as I just don't have the time to devote to it at present. I will keep you posted here but I may not be able to get to it until some time in February 2012.

In the meantime, I gather Taylor will be releasing their new 'spiffy' website mid-January plus they will be starting their own Taylor online community (Taylor Talk). But if you'd like to chat about all things Taylor now (or in the future) there is the recently formed Unofficial Taylor Guitar Forum where you'll find lots of helpful members and information. Drop by and say hello!

New webform provider

Just a quick post to say that I shall now be using FormSite instead of FormStack as my webform provider. This isn't due to any dissatisfaction with FormStack's service or features (they're excellent) but I'm cutting back on some 'unnecessary' costs and will save $140 a year by moving over to FormSite. :) If you encounter any issues, please let me know!

New BTO Sheets now received!

Having got in touch with my other contact at Taylor, it seems my emails were going into a black hole somewhere as they never received them but I've now got the latest sheets for the third quarter of 2011 so all is well. I'll be checking through them to see what, if any, changes there are and will post my findings here soon.

Requested latest BTO Worksheets from Taylor

I've asked for the latest BTO worksheets from my contact at Taylor - the latest sheets should be valid to 30 June. As soon as I get them I'll check them out to see what, if any, changes there are to the details provided in the recent release of version 4.1 of the Automated BTO Spreadsheet.

Last night I sent details via email of how to download the latest version of the file(s) to all users that wished to receive updates.

The new version is now uploaded and ready so hopefully you'll be able to obtain your copy without any problems. Do let me know if anything goes pear-shaped and I'll get onto it immediately. :)

A new version will be available in the next couple of days. I've made the alterations but just need to check it through carefully before releasing it. :)

I now have the latest BTO sheets from Taylor

I'll update the spreadsheet ASAP but below are the main changes to the information provided on the current version (4.0.2 dated 3 Feb 2010):

Back/Sides: Cocobolo now $2000 (was $1000)
Top: Adirondack Spruce, Premium now $600 (was $500)
Headstock overlay: Cocobolo now $100 (was $75)
Rosette: Cocobolo, 3-ring added for $100
Bridge wood: Choice of either Ebony ($0) or Macassar ($250)
Fretboard wood: Choice of either Ebony ($0) or Macassar ($250)

There are some other alterations including some new fretboard inlay designs that we've recently seen on Taylor's Fall Limited models (Figured Twist and Pipeline).

Full details will be provided once I've completed the update.

I received one of the updated BTO Sheets a week ago but unfortunately there was an error on it plus I need all 4 sheets to do the job so I'm waiting for further info from Taylor.

I'm so sorry I didn't get round to updating the BTO Spreadsheet when I last received revised details from Taylor but I promise I will definitely do it this time.

My contact at Taylor says that he should have the new sheets available for me in a week or two so as soon as I've updated the spreadsheet I'll be sure to post the news here and send round a revised version to those that asked for updates.

Cocobolo removed

Just to say that one of the major changes I've noticed in looking through the new sheets is that Cocobolo is no longer available as a back/side wood, binding or headstock overlay. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Version 4.0 released

For 2010, Taylor Guitars have released separate BTO Sheets for each of these guitar types:

Acoustic and Acoustic/Electric
Baritone
12-fret
Nylon

Version 4.0 (and beyond) of the automated spreadsheet incorporates all four types into a single worksheet. Click on a button to select your preferred Guitar Type and the available options are highlighted accordingly. You will be prevented from selecting an option that is not available for your selected guitar type.

I’ve added a Quick List feature to sheet 1 that shows your current selections in a compact and easily viewed format that can also be copied to any text editor if required.

The navigation buttons are now located in the static heading so that they are always available to use.

Taylor recently introduced its Modify a Model program which enables customers to change certain basic options of an existing Taylor model without the need to order a custom, build-to-order guitar. A further (5th) worksheet has been included in an attempt to detail the features that may be selected in place of the standard options.

New BTO features from Taylor:

9-string acoustic guitar, 6 and 8-string Baritone guitars, 12-fret guitar and nylon guitar
Gotoh 510 tuners with ebonoid buttons
Armrest
Backstrap
